If your eyes are itching repeatedly and they are turning red, then do not ignore it. Irritation in the eyes with tears can cause more serious problems. Due to increasing pollution, the problem of eyes is spreading rapidly in children too.

Carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and coarse dust particles in poor quality air are badly affecting not only the lungs but also the eyes.


What can be the damage to the eyes due to pollution?

Due to this pollution, the condition of the lungs is happening like smoking 40 cigarettes in a day. The reason is that the nano particles present in the air are causing irritation in the throat and eyes and the delicate eyes of children are not able to tolerate them. When the level of air pollution is severe, then the thick layer of air i.e. smog causes great damage to the eyes, causing allergic reactions in the eyes and a slight negligence can damage the retina and cornea.

Not only this, constant itching and irritation can make a difference to the lens of the eye and can also cause scratching. Itching can aggravate the infection and itching can damage the cornea.

How to protect eyes?

First of all protect the eyes from pollution. For this, go out of the house less and if necessary, definitely wear glasses. 

Keep washing the eyes with plain water.

Mix two drops of lemon juice in a glass of water and wash the eyes with it.

Use eye drops to prevent dry eyes.

Keep mobile and computer at least as it can aggravate the problem.

Take steam, this will bring out the dirt.

If there is a lot of irritation, then place cucumber slices or aloe vera on the eyes.
