People who live a more relaxed lifestyle experience brain shrinkage, which can lead to a variety of mental issues.

Due to Coronavirus, today we are once again forced to be imprisoned in our respective homes. During this time most of the people are doing work from home and spending most of their time sitting in one place for hours but do you know that it can affect your memory?

Some startling revelations about long periods of sitting have come to light in a recent study. Researchers from the university of California, Los Angeles included 35 people ranging in age from 45 to 75 years old in this study.

Scientists got detailed information from these people about their daily physical activity and the duration of their sitting etc. Along with this, a high-resolution MRI scan of each person's brain, a special part of the 'medial temporal lobe' (MTL), was done.

When this section of the study was analysed, it was shown that for people who live a more comfortable lifestyle, it is quite thin. The findings of this study were published in the journal Plus One.

According to the researchers, sitting for lengthy periods of time significantly raises the risk of dementia in persons aged 50 and over. According to him, at this age, the brains of people who live a more relaxed lifestyle begin to shrink, which can lead to a variety of mental issues.

MTL thinning simply implies that a person's ability to understand and recall things is deteriorating, which might lead to major issues such as memory loss in the future.

Scientists say that diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia are common in increasing age. In common language, dementia is called amnesia. Although it is not the name of a disease but a large group of symptoms.

In this disease, apart from forgetting, there is difficulty in remembering things, inability to understand the logic, meeting people. Symptoms such as hesitation in bonding, difficulty in handling emotions, personality changes, etc. are seen. All these symptoms are due to brain loss.

To avoid this, you must increase physical activity and avoid a comfortable lifestyle. Also, people can easily avoid the risk of brain diseases by making changes in their diet. For this, they just have to consume anti-inflammatory fruits and vegetables.
