At the time of inaugurating the hospital built in pune in the memory of her father Dinanath Mangeshkar by narendra modi, who was then the chief minister of Gujarat, Swara Kokila lata mangeshkar expressed her desire to become the prime minister and narendra modi also became the Prime Minister. As prime minister, narendra modi also attended Lata Mangeshkar's funeral on 6 february and maharashtra bjp has also started preparations to make Lata Mangeshkar's Marathi heritage its legacy.
But, this time the Shiv Sena, congress and ncp government of maharashtra have already thrown their trump card. Even before the bjp could make any political use of Lata Mangeshkar's legacy, the maharashtra government has announced to open an international college of music in her name and has allocated budget for it. The maharashtra government has allocated a budget of Rs 100 crore for this institution, which is going to be established under the name Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar international college of music and Museum. This entire project will be made under the supervision of a committee of six people and the chairman of this committee has been made by Lata Mangeshkar's brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Apart from Hridaynath, the other people who are included in this committee are usha Mangeshkar, Adinath Mangeshkar, Shiv Kumar Sharma, and Mayuresh Pai.Mayuresh is the director of the Directorate of Culture, government of Maharashtra. maharashtra chief minister uddhav thackeray is also personally monitoring the entire project regarding the establishment of this college.
According to the information, the location for Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar international college of music and Museum has also been selected. After the death of lata mangeshkar, the bjp had demanded to build a memorial at shivaji Park in Dadar, where she was cremated. But, the Shiv Sena-led maharashtra government has earmarked a five-acre site at bombay university in Kalina, mumbai for this.
A study committee was initially constituted by the government of maharashtra to establish and run the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar international college of music and Museum. Now the core committee that has been formed will discuss this with the already formed study committee and on the basis of its recommendations, take further action regarding the establishment of this college. The maharashtra government has also given instructions to expeditiously complete the process of transferring the land identified for this college to the directorate. After the death of lata mangeshkar, there was a lot of controversy about the number of her songs. Many people considered the recordings in his Guinness Book as the number of his songs. The Guinness Book had mentioned the word recording instead of writing songs and Harish Bhimani, who cherished the memories of 123 shows in 53 cities in 21 countries with lata mangeshkar in his book 'In search of Lata Mangeshkar', tells that every song in that era It was common to have two to three recordings.
Efforts are also being made to preserve the history of all the songs of lata mangeshkar in Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar international college of music and Museum. lata mangeshkar has been writing every song she sang on paper with her own hand and on those papers, she has written notes, signs made for ascending descent, etc. Objects, instruments, books, and god statues used by lata mangeshkar during her lifetime will also be stored in this museum.
