What is the status of green jobs in India?

India has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2070. The need for green occupations is rising quickly as a result. Numerous businesses are attempting to develop new sources of energy and reduce pollution. People with expertise in the environment are needed by these companies.

52,700 new workers were added to the solar and wind energy sectors in india in 2022, eight times more than in 2021–2022, according to a joint study by CEW, NRDC india, and Skill Council for Green Jobs. Simultaneously, the count of occupations requiring green talents has doubled. The Green industry Outlook Report estimates that 1.85 crore people work in green jobs in india at the moment. Additionally, according to this data, the number of contract workers in this industry is rising quickly.
