The idea of remakes of films is controversial. While some people find it simple, others find it difficult. The success of the adaptation depends largely on how well it captures the spirit of the original movie. If the director is successful in doing that, the remake will be a success; otherwise, it will be a failure. In the instance of the bollywood movie Selfie, this was true. Selfie is a successful hindi adaptation of the popular malayalam film Driving License. The characters, their problems, and the underlying emotions were successfully displayed in the malayalam adaptation.

The hindi remake, however, was unable to duplicate this achievement. akshay kumar performed the starring role, but the filmmaker was unable to develop a convincing rivalry between him and Imran. The two characters were meant to be seen as bitter rivals in the hindi version. This contributed to the movie's failure.

With Selfie, Akshay disappointed his fans while SRK followers celebrated success with Pathan. Surprisingly, the film garnered unfavourable reviews on the day it was released, with several critics complaining that Akshay and Imran had no idea what they were doing on screen. Really, this is the most shocking criticism Akshay has ever received.
