Ponniyin Selvan 2:This star also carries Disappointment..??

Malayalam actor jayaram has mixed feelings about being a part of famous director Mani Ratnam's masterpiece Ponniyin Selvan. It has more to do with his mother, who was a passionate supporter of the novel by kalki Krishnamurthy than it does with his experience working on the film.

"My mother was from Kumbakonam, Thanjavur," said Jayaram, who portrays Azhwarkkadiyan Nambi in the flicks, in an exclusive interview. She used to wait obediently each week for kalki magazine while reading Ponniyin Selvan. I, therefore, grew up hearing these tales from her. She would explain to me what each character experienced.

The actor recalled how, when he was younger, a newspaper agent by the name of Kathiresan would bring important tamil magazines to Perumbavoor. He would visit our home and give my mother a variety of publications, including Pesum Padam and Bommai as well as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudham, and Kalki. She would, however, be most anticipating Kalki's magazine, which featured ponniyin selvan, he says.

"Ponniyin Selvan plunges into the sea at the conclusion of the first film. In addition to caring for him, my character is in charge of making sure that everyone in the kingdom is informed of what happens to him. Whether ponniyin selvan returns with Vandiyathevan, whether he and Aditha Karikalan would cross paths, and Nandini's future intentions will also be important themes of the film. Ponniyin Selvan: II will become even more interesting as a result of all of these critical scenes, says Jayaram.
