SEBI has given a gift to investors!!!

Market regulator SEBI has given a gift to investors buying debt securities in a public issue. The investment limit for investors who used to pay through Unified Payment Interface (UPI) has been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

SEBI (Security and Exchange Board of India) issued the circular on Tuesday. According to this circular, the new rule will be applicable on the public issue of debt securities opened on or after May 1, 2022. This increased limit will be applicable on the issue and listing of non-convertible securities, securitized debt instruments, securities receipts, municipal debt securities, and commercial papers.

According to SEBI rules, investors get the option that they can invest up to Rs 2 lakh through UPI in the issue of debt securities. Now after this change, this investment limit will increase to Rs 5 lakh.

The market regulator has decided to increase the limit for investment in UPI from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh to bring uniformity in rules based on discussions with different market participants.

There is a service to transfer money instantly between two bank accounts through UPI. To send money to any person, merchant, you only need an ID, account number, or scanner. To avail this service, the user only needs a VPA (Virtual Payment Address).
