Ilayaraja doesn't seem to have a good time. His 1000th movie was a failure and now his celebration program 'Ilayaraja 1000' was also a huge failure. The event took place on 27th and despite relaxation of rules very few actors participated in the event.
Director cum Actor Bhagyaraj who came to the function was mocked badly and he got annoyed. He was intentionally mocked and he was upset with it. Fans of Ilayaraja came to hear his songs. But all they got was just chit chat.
The whole event took place for 5 hours and among these the songs were sung just for 2 hours. SPB portion was the only consolation for fans. But still he was not given ample time. Fans got annoyed and started to move away. Kamalhaasan who was invited to speak few words, walked out of the event pretty soon.
One of the fan who attended the event said, this was done with an intention of getting TRP ratings for the channel. There is nothing useful for fans. It is just waste of time and money.
