Karthi and Nagarjuna are joining hands for the first time to do a bi-lingual titled 'Oopiri'. The Tamil version is titled as 'Thozha'. Tamannaah essays female lead role and she pairs with Karthi for the third time after 'Paiyaa' and 'Siruthai'. Nagarjuna will be seen as a paralyzed person.
The movie is produced by PVP Pictures banner and Vamsi Padipally shapes it. The press meet happened yesterday and Karthi said that he ragged Tamannaah by calling her 'Senior' on the sets. Even though Karthi's movies were remade in Telugu, this is his first direct Telugu movie.
The actor said, "I am so happy to get this opportunity and I am happy to do a straight Telugu movie with 'Oopiri'. Few films bring commercial success, few bring mass image but very few films bring respect to actors. Oopiri is such film that get respect to all of us.
The movie is completely different from the Original french movie 'The Intouchables'. I won't call it as a remake. It is an adaptation. Right from the dialogues to the treatment in screenplay everything will be new. Vamsi adapted to the regional audience taste and made lots of changes. Nagarjuna garu called me brother. But he treated me like a King. Whenever I go to Annapurna Studios, I just receive royal treatment. I feel like staying at home."
