Siddarth's tweet on saina nehwal has misfired big time and NCW has seen action on the actor.
Actor Siddarth is one of the prominent name in tamil and telugu industry. He has acted in number of films and has earned a good reputation. SIddarth is often known for being vocal. He does not fear anyone while sometime it expresses his boldness sometime it backfires. Even recently he questioned government on Ticket issue which received good appreciation.
But now his tweet on saina nehwal has backfired. Saina Nehwal had tweeted a condemning tweet on punjabi protesters who blocked narendra Modi's car recently. Siddarth quoted her tweet and said “Subtle cock champion of the world. Thank god we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna ”.
This came across as an extremely offensive comment. Many celebrities and popular personalities expressed their objection about the tweet. The National Commission for women (NCW) also sent a notice to twitter asking them to immediately block the actor's account for his 'misogynist and outrageous' comment.
Seeing the outrage, Siddarth posted an explanation yesterday. He said “COCK & BULL. That's the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading. Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period. ”. We will need to see if his account will face any action from Twitter.
