Scream 6 appears to have a good chance of bringing the brand back to the big screen, especially because there are a lot of legacy personalities and Ghostface murderer survivors that could appear in the film. Scream 2022 was released eleven years after Scream 4, resurrecting legendary characters such as Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and ghost of Billy Loomis. Scream 2022's various easter eggs to prior survivors increased the amount of individuals who could be involved in the franchise's future, even if they didn't appear onscreen. 

Only a few people seem to make it through the Scream flicks, but there are always sufficient new and existing survivors to make a successor. While previous Scream films have always kept Sidney, Gale, and Dewey alive to further the brand and serve as its foundation, Scream 2022 did the unimaginable by murdering off Dewey. Scream 6 will regretfully not have Dewey, but the 2022 film will still feature plenty of survivors and prior characters to carry on the brand.

The killing spree in Scream 2022 was inspired by Scream original heritage characters and their families, demonstrating how crucial it is for the brand to be linked to a survivor or perpetrator from the Woodsboro Ghostface murders. Just because a character has survived one Ghostface killing spree doesn't mean they'll survive another, as Scream has repeatedly demonstrated.
