The Mission: Impossible 7 trailer has debuted, offering fans a first look at the first instalment of Dead Reckoning, tom Cruise's highly anticipated two-part climax to his career as the international spy. The Mission: Impossible franchise appears to be growing in popularity, with the sixth instalment, Fallout, receiving critical acclaim and a massive box office haul of about $800 million. The seventh and eighth Mission: Impossible films were announced to be made back-to-back immediately after Fallout's release, but the films have had a difficult time making it to theatres since then.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic accelerated the creation of Mission: Impossible 7 and 8, fueled by Cruise's determination to outdo himself once more. Both films will be directed by christopher McQuarrie, with the first being officially titled Dead Reckoning Part 1. Several new names have joined the franchise, including Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby, in addition to the existing cast. Hayley Atwell of Marvel will presumably play a prominent role, with Pom Klementieff and Indira Varma.

After showing it at CinemaCon earlier this year, Paramount has officially released the first Mission: Impossible 7 trailer. Following the reveal of Czerny's return as Kittridge, the trailer shifts into traditional Mission: Impossible mode, showcasing a montage of the players in action while Ethan Hunt does what he does best: run and jump from tall buildings and/or cliffs. The video ends with Cruise leaping off a cliff on top of a motorcycle, a stunt that has already been promised via behind-the-scenes images.
