In september 2022, producer Ravinder Chandrasekar wed actress and anchor Mahalakshmi. Their union was a loud declaration that beauty, color, or appearance had no place in the definition of love. The primary charge was that Mahalakshmi wed for Ravinder's financial gain. The disparity in appearance was another factor in the attack. Any issue was dismissed by her with a grin and uploaded right away on social media. 

However, after a while, fewer images of Mahalakshmi and Ravinder appeared on her instagram profile. Mahalakshmi made an appearance in several marketing advertisements. They split up with that, according to the following rumor. Every time Ravinder and Mahalakshmi visited significant locations, they would publish photos of the two of them together. In any case, Ravinder publicly addressed the divorce rumors.

Now, after the arrest of Ravinder, Mahalakshmi seems to be in depression and there are speculations that she has applied for divorce citing the couple never had a proper family life. She never dragged anything else on her divorce and there are reports she might apply for divorce by mutual consent. However, these reports are published on a tamil tabloid and we need to wait if this is real or not.
