Nayanthara's recent release Annapurnani was removed from OTT platform Netflix a few days after it was accused of hurting religious sentiments. According to reports, one of the producers of the film has written a letter to vishwa Hindu Parishad, saying that until the film is edited, it will be removed from the OTT platform. Now mahesh bhatt has reacted to this.
Mahesh told in an interaction, “We are living in very sensitive times globally and people who are involved in the business of mass entertainment. They have access to more and more people. Only then can you achieve what you call spectacular success. The world has changed to a great extent over the years. Earlier, reactions to our films used to come to us filtered through mainstream media.
He further added, “Now in this wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital age everyone has the facility to express their reaction to anything popular without any restrictions. At no point in history has any entertainer, storyteller, or filmmaker been as insecure as he is today. To impose that the world should be like this is an imaginary idea. The question is not whether it should be so. The question is, what are we dealing with?”
In this conversation, he said that what should be done and what should not be done should be decided by the respected judges of the judiciary. Mahesh said that every filmmaker has a censor inside him and the platforms also take appropriate steps.
Therefore no one intentionally tries to hurt anyone's sentiments. annapurna was released in theaters on december 1. Whereas, it was released on OTT on 29 December. Nayanthara is seen in the lead role in the film.
