Father's Day: Some found it difficult to talk, some learned discipline from their father, read stories of celebs on Father's Day
Father's Day Special: Today, 'Father's Day' is being celebrated across the country, that is, the day when everyone remembers their father. On this occasion, celebs have also told some stories about their father. Father... is not just a relationship, but the foundation of the whole life. On the occasion of Father's Day, some actors spoke to amar Ujala Digital, during which they shared memories related to their father... some make you laugh, some make you cry... but one thing was common in every story, that was love.
I am still learning discipline from him - abhishek Banerjee.
Actor and casting director abhishek Banerjee said while talking, 'If I have to thank my father for anything, it would be... taking work seriously. He never lectured me, but I learned by watching him.'
He further said, 'He is a President Award winner, a police Medal winner, this is a big thing. But even bigger than that is his professionalism. I have learned from him how dedicated he was toward his work. But yes, one habit that I have learned from him is smoking and this is a bad habit. I want both of us, Papa and I to give it up and yes, another habit of his is discipline. He is so disciplined that even today I am trying to learn this from him. I have not been able to learn it yet, but the effort is on.'
Papa's love through food is still the same - Kritika Kamra.
Actress kritika kamra also spoke on the occasion of Father's Day and said, 'My father has sacrificed a lot. He was from a middle-class family, but he never let us be short of anything. From studies to every need, he kept bringing new things for us by leaving his things. There is only one way of love in our house… food. Even today, when Papa comes to Mumbai, he himself picks vegetables and fruits and brings them. We often get angry that why you go so far, as to send someone or order… but he says, I will bring it myself. He will keep my favorite things ready in advance and when I go home, he gets everything made that I like.'
She said, 'The biggest thing I learned from him is humanity. My father is a doctor. Free medical camps, blood donation… he helped others without expecting any benefit. He kept doing good silently… without showing off. Whatever little humanity I have is because of him.'
I still have those cards - Chitrangada Singh.
Actress chitrangada singh also shared an anecdote while talking, 'If I share a memory on Father's Day, my father was in the army, so he used to stay away from us. At that time he was posted in the East, in a very sensitive area. When we used to send him letters, many words were blacked out - because there was censorship. Very limited conversation was possible.'
Chitrangada further said, 'But once on my birthday, he sent me so many cards... in which nothing was blacked out. I don't know how he managed it. A walking doll, a toy like a monkey... that was very special. When I got married and I was clearing my wardrobe, even then I had those cards. One habit of my father that I have got is to wake up early in the morning. He used to wake up at 5:30-6 am and used to say that if it is 8 o'clock, half the day is gone. Even today I wake up early - that habit is still with me.'
The dream was mine, but the courage was of my father - adarsh Gaurav.
Along with this, actor adarsh Gaurav also talked about his father. He said, 'Papa never knew the world of acting, but he never stopped me. When I was nervous in my first audition, he was standing with me at the bus stop, with full confidence. He never doubted my decisions, he just said - if you want to do it, do it with all your heart, don't leave it incomplete.'
Adarsh said, 'He gave me freedom, taught me patience, and made me believe that hard work never goes to waste. Whatever little I have been able to do in acting, it is because of my father's trust and support. If I can become even a little like him, then consider my life successful.'
