
Shooting Begins for Awarapan 2
The much-awaited sequel to Awarapan has officially gone on floors.
Shooting began in bangkok with a traditional muhurat shot on september 29.
Producer Vishesh Bhatt announced the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of the clapboard.
His caption read: “Tera Mera Rishta Purana Bro Emraan Hashmi… Shoot Begins… Awarapan 2.”

Emraan Hashmi will reprise his iconic role of shivam Pandit.
While Awarapan (2007) wasn’t a huge hit at the box office, it became a fan favorite over the years.
Fans have eagerly awaited the return of shivam, and now Emraan is set to relive the character.
About the Film
Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui.
It is produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the Vishesh Films banner.
The film promises to blend nostalgic elements from the original with a fresh storyline.
It will continue Shivam’s journey, exploring new emotional and action-packed layers.
Release Date
The film is scheduled to release in theaters on april 3, 2026.
Emraan Hashmi had first announced the project on his 46th birthday (March 24, 2025).
He teased fans with a post: “Just keep me alive for a little while longer… Awarapan 2 in cinemas, april 3, 2026.”
Flashback to Awarapan (2007)
Directed by Mohit Suri, the original was an uncredited remake of the Korean film A Bittersweet Life.
The movie starred Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana.
It revolved around gangster shivam Pandit, who is ordered to keep watch on his boss’s secret girlfriend, Reema.

Recently, Emraan appeared in the telugu film They Call Him Ozi, opposite Pawan Kalyan.
He played the main villain, Omkar Vardhaman Mirajkar aka Omi Bhau.
The film is currently performing well at the box office.
