TDP Government is in thought of reduce the “powers” of Tirumala Tirupati Devasatnams (TTD) through an ordinance. TTD has separate act in dealing the various issues on temple. AP Government seeks to make many changes for that Act. TTD has enjoyed discretionary powers in implementing its decisions after discussed within the general body meeting. TTD can implement its decisions without consulting AP Government.
TTD has to take permission of the state government
Now, it has been changed. TTD has to take permission of the state government to implement key decisions. TDP Government has decided to reduce the tenure of TTD General Body to one year. Earlier, it had three year tenure as per its Act. YSR reduced it to two years. At the time of YSR, TUDA Chairman also became an additional member of TTD. YSR gave chance to CheviReddy (then TUDA Chairman).
TDP has changed
this in the act. TDP Government not to consider membership of TUDA Chairman
into TTD Governing body. AP Government issued GO to merge Vontimitta Temple
into TTD. TTD will provide priests and other belongings in conducting pujas in
Vontimitta temple. Due to financial crisis, AP Government took the decision to
merge Vontimitta Temple into TTD.
