Karnataka's intense election campaign is now officially concluded. The impending assembly elections in the five states of chhattisgarh, madhya pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and telangana over the next six months will be the real litmus test for the narendra Modi-led BJP. The upcoming elections, dubbed a "mini general election" before the big fight in 2024, will not be a stroll in the park for the congress either as it tries to capitalise on the karnataka victory impact in the other States.
While chhattisgarh, madhya pradesh, and Mizoram's assembly elections are most likely to take place in November, telangana and Rajasthan's elections will take place in december this year. These States collectively represent 83 lok sabha seats.

Only madhya pradesh now has the bjp in power out of these five States. After losing karnataka, the party is now up against stiff competition in all five States. It has become necessary for the bjp to restore its footing before the general elections by holding onto power in madhya pradesh and winning the assembly elections in both chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Given their representation in the Parliament, all of these significant States are significant to the party.
In addition, chhattisgarh and Rajasthan's current administrations are led by the Congress. Retaining power in both of these States after winning the karnataka assembly elections will significantly improve the party's chances in the 2024 lok sabha elections. The Mizo National Front (MNF), which had supported the congress party, now controls Mizoram. The MNF as a State party, which has a strong base throughout the bordering State and strong regional political contexts, is anticipated to put up a serious fight against both the bjp and the Congress.
