The hyderabad traffic police has ordered the school administrations to use staggered hours in order to reduce traffic mayhem in school zones. The goal of the traffic police is to prevent two nearby schools from starting or finishing the school day at the same time. If executed well, there would be less traffic congestion, which would benefit the area's regular road users.

Following complaints from frequent commuters about traffic congestion and slowdowns in regions where a lot of schools are situated, the traffic police came up with the idea to stagger school start times. people reported that in spite of the presence of traffic police officers, neighborhoods with several schools continued to experience bottlenecks and slow traffic flow.

"Recently, we met with the school administration, and practically all of them agreed to work with us to lessen the difficulty. We are hoping that we would be able to ground our plans by the end of this month, said Additional Commissioner (Traffic), G Sudheer Babu.

In order to reduce road congestion, schools were advised to space out their start times by 15 minutes. Teams of traffic police officers have already pinpointed a number of locations where there are concentrations of schools and frequent traffic issues. The traffic police will split the school zones into sectors and recommend the opening and closing hours to the school administration based on the traffic flow, school strength (in terms of number of pupils), and the number of cars lined up outside the schools to pick up children.

The managements are being urged by the traffic police to let automobiles to enter schools to pick up pupils rather than parking outside. There have been concerns in certain places about long lines of cars in front of schools, especially in places where there is no open space for parking. We are requesting that security guards be stationed at such institutions to control traffic. The official said that one or two traffic police officers were also stationed.
