In a twitter post, isro said how Chandrayaan-3 can be seen successfully landing. India's Chandrayaan-3 flew close to the moon on august 20. The vikram lander on sunday received its second and final thrust and came closest to the moon, at a distance of 25 km, isro said. Currently vikram Lander is undergoing various pre-landing tests. isro also says that the lander will wait for sunrise at the landing site. On July 14, India's third mission to the moon was launched from the satish dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. A few weeks after this, Chandrayaan-3 entered lunar orbit on august 5.



When and where will the landing take place?


The vikram lander, the landing module of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, will make a soft landing on the lunar surface on august 23. After the successful landing, india will become the fourth country to achieve this feat after USA, china and Russia. isro today confirmed the date and time of the historic landing event in a tweet. It said, "Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to land on the moon on august 23, 2023 at around 6:04 PM IST".


The lander will try to make a soft landing on the south pole of the moon. isro said that even after landing on the lunar surface, the propulsion module will continue to orbit the moon to study the Earth's atmosphere.

The much-awaited vikram Lander landing event will be telecast live from 5:27 PM IST on wednesday (August 23), isro said on its official website. Live telecast can be found on isro website, YouTube, ISRO's facebook page and DD National tv channel.


All schools and educational institutions are invited to witness this historic event which is eagerly awaited across the country. students and teachers have also been advised to arrange for live telecast of Chandrayaan-3 soft landing event.
