assembly elections are going to be held in madhya pradesh in november this year and before that a riot has

started regarding the Chief Secretary of the state. Present Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains is running on

extension. congress is trying to ensure that the state assembly elections are not held under the leadership of

Bains, which is why many allegations have been made by the party and there has been talk of even knocking

on the doors of the court.

Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains is a 1985 batch IAS, he retired in november 2022, but he has got an

extension first till May 2023 and then till 30 november 2023. Due to this, there is a possibility that only Bains

can remain the Chief Secretary at the time of elections. Congress's concerns have increased regarding this

only.

congress is assuming that Bains has been counted among the closest officers of the state Chief Minister

Shivraj Singh Chouhan and he has also got extension twice due to the efforts of the Chief Minister. Assembly

elections are proposed in the state this year and it is also expected that the voting process will be completed

before november 30 and if the election process continues i.e. counting of votes and results are still pending,

then the votes will be given some time. More extensions may be available.

Many officers are in line to become Chief Secretary

congress is worried about this, while many officers who are in the queue to become Chief Secretary are doing

their lobbying. Due to this, congress is becoming increasingly aggressive. As far as administrative gathering

and elections are concerned, a phase of administrative surgery is going on in the state, the government is

taking big decisions and implementing big schemes. There are two months left for Bains' extension to be

completed, but he is as active as he was during his appointment period and is continuously attending

government meetings. Remember, he had started packing his belongings even before his retirement date of

november 2022. cm Shivraj also wants Bains to remain the secretary to show the results of his

announcements and schemes, but if the matter goes to court, the government may face disgrace.
