One of the best schools in the city, Sancta Maria international school in Serilingampally, had its kitchen judged to be lacking in fundamental hygienic standards by ghmc food safety inspectors. The breaches could lead to the shutdown of the school's kitchen. Officials discovered that individuals in charge of the kitchen were not routinely replacing the frying oil during their inspection on september 14. Additionally, the staff was utilizing subpar materials to cover the food, improper procedures for separating cooked from uncooked food, and corrosive cookware to prepare dosas.

"We have served a show-cause notice and sent samples of vinegar, used cooking oil, and red chili sauce for analysis. We will decide whether to file civil or criminal charges against the school based on the outcome, according to E Sudharshan reddy, additional director of the Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation's food safety division. He stated that the kitchen would be shut down. reddy said that the examination was carried out as a result of complaints against the school from parents who claimed that their children were constantly sick, which were forwarded to hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi.


The inspection report said that the pav bhaji masala had reached the end of its shelf life. Officials discovered standing water on the kitchen floor and employees' clothing left out to dry on student plates. Additionally, dustbins in the kitchen lacked lids, the canteen and chimneys were oily, and cookware wasn't cleaned according to manufacturer's specifications. Officials claimed the school administration was unable to provide pest control or medical certification records. They lacked a supervisor for food safety as well.
