The important meeting of Shinde Committee regarding distribution of maratha Kunbi certificates has started in
the Ministry. Former judge Shinde, Principal Secretary of Revenue Department Rajgopal Deora and Principal
Secretary of Social Welfare Department Sumant Bhange are present in the meeting. Apart from this, collectors
of eight districts have also attended the meeting. In the meeting, emphasis will be laid on setting up an
administrative system to give Kunbi certificates to the maratha community by the deadline of 24th December
given by Manoj Jarange Patil.
Formation of special cell in Thane
The district administration in Maharashtra's thane has formed a special cell as per the directions of Chief
Minister Eknath Shinde to verify caste records to issue Kunbi caste certificates to eligible persons of Maratha
community. district Magistrate ashok Shingare will monitor the functioning of the cell formed on saturday and
will report the progress to the state authorities, a release said. It has been established on the lines of a cell
established in Marathwada. It will verify the caste records on the basis of which Kunbi caste certificates can be
issued to eligible Marathas.
Work continues on war footing
According to the release, Additional district Magistrate Manisha Jaibhaye-Dhule, SDO and Tehsildar are also
working on war footing to complete the work related to this in the district. The chief minister had said on
Thursday that every district Magistrate will be asked to depute 10 officers from among the staff of the District
Magistrate's office to search the old records on the basis of which Kunbi caste certificates can be given to the
eligible Marathas. maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange has demanded that Kunbi caste certificates be
given to members of the community. Jarange ended his indefinite fast on thursday after nine days. Kunbi
community has already got the benefit of reservation in Other Backward Class (OBC) category.
