Elections are to be held in madhya pradesh on 17 November. Before the elections, both bjp and Congress
parties are trying to show their strength. On monday, Bahujan Samaj party chief mayawati told people not
to fall prey to Congress’s demand for caste-based enumeration. Addressing a rally in ashok Nagar, Madhya
Pradesh, the BSP chief said that congress had also delayed giving Bharat Ratna to Constitution maker Baba
Saheb Ambedkar.
mayawati further said that one should not fall into the trap of congress which is demanding caste based
calculation. After independence, during the congress rule, Kaka Kalelkar Commission and Mandal
Commission had recommended reservation for Other Backward Classes, but congress did nothing. As
elections approach, congress is talking about caste based census. mayawati said that bjp has exploited
Dalits and tribals.
Targeted at BJP
On the other hand, mayawati described both bjp and congress as parties of capitalists and rich people and
said that till now the governments of madhya pradesh have not done any work for the people nor paid any
attention to the Dalits. He further said that congress and bjp governments have only done the work of
abolishing reservation. Taking a dig at bjp, he said that recently the central government brought a bill for
33 percent reservation for women, but no such system was implemented in it, which would benefit the women.
