Major action has been taken in punjab regarding the lapse in security of prime minister Narendra Modi. Seven
police officers have been suspended over security lapses. This includes the names of bathinda SP Gurbinder
Singh, DSP Parson Singh, DSP Jagdish Kumar, Inspector Tejinder Singh, Inspector Balwinder Singh, Inspector
Jatinder Singh and ASI Rakesh Kumar. Actually, PM Modi was coming to Firozpur by road from bathinda on 5
February 2022. Then the farmers blocked the road. Due to this, PM Modi’s convoy had to be stopped at Pyaaraana
flyover in Firozpur. The convoy stopped at the flyover for about 20 minutes. After this, due to security reasons,
PM Modi’s convoy was made to do a U-turn instead of going to Ferozepur.

When PM Modi reached the airport to go back to Delhi, on his behalf he thanked the then chief minister of
punjab Charanjit Singh Channi in the congress government and said that he returned alive, thanks to the cm for
this. After this there was a lot of controversy regarding the matter.
supreme court had formed a committee to investigate
An investigation committee was formed by the supreme court regarding the lapse in security of PM Modi in
Ferozepur. In its report, this investigation committee had declared the then Chief Secretary of punjab Anirudh
Tiwari and DGP siddharth Chattopadhyay guilty. After this, this committee had submitted the investigation
report to the supreme court as well as the central government in august 2022.
