A day after delhi Chief Secretary naresh Kumar was given a six-month extension in service, senior leader and

Rajya Sabha mp kapil sibal has made serious allegations against BJP. He said that this decision of the Center

has gone beyond the lok sabha elections 2024. The central government wants to appoint officers in delhi to

make the kejriwal government uncomfortable. kapil sibal has written in a post on X that the supreme court has

given six months extension in service to delhi Chief Secretary naresh Kumar. This takes us ahead of the 2024

lok sabha elections. Further, kapil sibal has written that the Center wanted just this. To make the Delhi

government uncomfortable in the coming days, it should appoint the officers itself.

What is in the order of the home Ministry?

Actually, this comment of kapil sibal comes a day after the home Ministry issued an official order approving

the extension of service for naresh Kumar, an AGMUT cadre IAS officer and currently serving as the Chief

Secretary of Delhi. He has written in the ex-post that the competent authority has given approval for the

extension. This allows Kumar to continue in his role as Chief Secretary for an additional period of six months.

The MHA order states that as per Rule 16(1) of the All india services (Death cum Retirement Benefits) Rules,

1953, the extension will be effective from december 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
