Prime minister Modi will visit lakshadweep, tamil Nadu today and tomorrow. prime minister Modi will visit tamil Nadu and lakshadweep on january 2 and 3. prime minister Modi will arrive in Trichy on january 2 (tomorrow) at 10.30 am and participate in the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University, Trichy as a special guest.  At 12 noon, PM Modi will inaugurate various development projects at a public event in Trichy. Aviation, rail, Road, Shipping, Higher Education, oil and Gas Sectors Rs. He will dedicate several development projects worth more than 19,850 crores to the country and lay foundation stones for new projects in these sectors.


At around 3.15 pm, the prime minister will address a public function at Agathi, Lakshadweep. On january 3rd at 12 noon, the prime minister will visit Kavarati, lakshadweep, dedicate many development projects related to the sectors of telecommunication, drinking water, solar power, health etc. undertaken in lakshadweep and lay the foundation stone for new projects. At the 38th convocation ceremony of Trichy Bharathidasan University, prime minister Modi presents awards to outstanding students of the university. He will address the event. The prime minister will inaugurate the new terminal building of the tiruchirappalli international airport at a public event in Tiruchirappalli. Built at a cost of over Rs.1100 crore, this two-level new international terminal building is designed to handle more than 44 lakh passengers annually. It has a capacity to handle around 3500 passengers during peak hours. The new terminal has state-of-the-art facilities and features for passenger comfort.


During this event, prime minister Modi will dedicate many railway projects to the country. salem - Magnesite Junction - Omalur - mettur dam section, 41.4 km double track project. These three projects include the construction of a 160 km double track between madurai - Thoothukudi, the electrification of the tiruchirappalli - Manamadurai - Virudhunagar railway line, the electrification of the Virudhunagar - Thenkasi junction, and the electrification of the Sengottai - Thenkasi junction - tirunelveli - Tiruchendur railway line. It has been reported that these rail projects will help in improving freight and passenger transport capacity, economic growth and job creation in tamil Nadu.


Prime minister Modi will dedicate five road projects to the country during this event. 39 km four-lane in Trichy-Kallagam section of National Highway 81, 4/2 lane for 60 km of Kallagam-Meensuruti section of National Highway 81, 29 km four-lane in Chettikulam-Nattam section of National Highway 785, National Highway These include 80 km dual carriageway on the Karaikudi - Ramanathapuram section of 536, four-lane carriageway for 44 km stretch of National Highway 179A salem - Tirupattur - Vaniyampady road. These road projects will help in safe and speedy travel of the people and improve the connectivity of industrial and commercial hubs like Trichy, Srirangam, Chidambaram, Rameswaram, Dhanushkodi, Uthrakosamangai, Devipatnam, Airwadi, Madurai.


During the event, the prime minister will also lay foundation stones for important road development projects. This includes four-lane construction of 31 km stretch from Mukaiyur to Marakanam on National Highway 332A. This road will connect ports along the east coast of tamil Nadu. The project will improve road connectivity to Mamallapuram, a world heritage site. It will also provide better transport connectivity to Kalpakkam Nuclear Power Station.


Prime minister dedicates General Cargo Terminal-2 (Automobile Export/Import Terminal-2 and Pre-construction Phase-5) of Kamaraj Port to the country. The opening of Cargo Ship Shelter-2 is a step to strengthen the country's trade, which will help boost economic growth and employment generation.


During the event, prime minister Modi will dedicate petroleum and natural gas projects worth over Rs 9000 crore to the country and lay foundation stones for important new projects.
