The tamil Nadu Medical and Public Welfare Department has reduced the period from 2 years to one year for postgraduate medical students to work in government hospitals after completing their studies.

Most of the students who complete their MPBS wish to pursue postgraduate studies after their one-year compulsory training. In that way, various regulations have been laid down for the students studying in Masters. Those regulations have now been relaxed. In this regard, the tamil Nadu government has announced that the rule that non-service post-graduate doctors should work in government hospitals for two years after completing their post-graduate studies has been relaxed.

Also, it has been reported that those who do not want to work in government hospitals after completing their post-graduation should pay 40 lakh rupees and instead pay 20 lakh rupees. Also, the Medical and Public Welfare Department has issued an ordinance reducing the two years to one year.
