Earlier on Tuesday, AAP mp Raghav Chadha said that the alliance of opposition parties 'India' will win the chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections and this victory will be the beginning for the 2024 lok sabha elections. Both AAP and congress formed an alliance on monday for the elections to be held on january 18 in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Both parties are part of the indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India).
‘India’ alliance will defeat bjp – Raghav Chadha
Raghav Chadha said that he is confident that the 'India' alliance will defeat bjp in the elections in Chandigarh. He said, “Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections will be the first big contest between bjp and india Alliance. This will prepare the environment for the 2024 lok sabha elections.'' As per the alliance agreement for the mayor elections, AAP will contest for the mayor seat while congress will contest for the senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor posts. Opposition parties including congress, AAP, trinamool congress and Samajwadi party have formed 'India' alliance to defeat bjp in the lok sabha elections.
AAP has 13 councilors
Let us tell you that bjp has 14 councilors in the 35-member Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh. The party also has an ex-officio member, mp, who has the right to vote. AAP has 13 councilors and congress has seven. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has one councilor in the House.
