Meanwhile BSP supremo mayawati posted on X and wrote - "Before the lok sabha elections, the budget presented today in the parliament by the central government is more of an election lure than the ground reality. In this way, the people of the country are facing immense poverty, unemployment and rising inflation etc. Denial of suffering life is very sad and worrying. Along with this, if there was ground truth in the government's claims and promises related to the economy and development of the country, then more than 80 crore people here would not have been forced to live a life in need of free ration. "
Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Interim Union Budget 2024 in parliament on Thursday. During this, the Finance minister said that the capital expenditure outlay for infrastructure development and employment generation will be increased by 11.1 percent to Rs 11,11,111 crore, which will be 3.4 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). On reforms in states for 'Developed India', he said, "A provision of Rs 75,000 crore has been proposed in the form of a 50-year interest-free loan to support milestone reforms by state governments." Along with this, Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman further said that 40 thousand ordinary railway coaches will also be converted as per Vande Bharat standards.
