The election commission of india (ECI) has announced the schedule for lok sabha elections 2024 on Saturday. lok sabha elections will be held in 7 phases, the first phase will be held on april 19 and counting of votes will be held on june 4.

The wait for lok sabha election date announcement is now over. The election commission has announced that the programs for lok sabha and 4 state assembly elections will be held on march 16 at 3 pm after the two new election commissioners take charge.

Like 2019, the 2024 lok sabha elections are expected to be held in seven phases. During this period, in the first phase, elections are likely to be held in the northeastern states including West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, andhra pradesh and Telangana. This time the election may be held in third or fourth phase in Delhi.

In 2019, the sixth phase of elections was held in Delhi. Meanwhile, Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhveer Singh Sandhu, who have been appointed as election Commissioners, took charge on Friday. Subsequently, both the officials were involved in the preparations related to the election. The commission also announced that it will announce the election schedule on march 16 only after that.

Along with this, the Commission has also informed about the announcement of assembly election schedule of some states. While the assembly elections in Odisha, andhra pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and sikkim have already been confirmed, there have been speculations about holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Elections may be held here later for security reasons. However, the supreme court has stayed the assembly elections in kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir till September. In 2019, assembly elections for four states, including the lok sabha, were announced on march 10. Hence, there was speculation that these elections would be announced by march 10.

The 2024 lok sabha elections will be very interesting in many respects. Because, this time with the goal of crossing the four hundred mark, the national democratic alliance has entered the field, and india is facing the challenge of maintaining its previous status and progressing. Just like in 2019, in 2024 too there is prime minister Modi on one side and rahul gandhi on the other.

In this situation, the election commission of india met the media today and released the schedule for the 2024 lok sabha election date. According to the notification issued by Chief election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, lok sabha elections will be held in 7 phases, the first phase of elections will be held on april 19 and counting of votes will be held on june 4.
