National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for mayiladuthurai Lok Sabha constituency MK stalin collected votes in the papanasam constituency of thanjavur district. He was collecting votes while standing in a vehicle with the alliance party executives in Narasimhapuram between Adanur-Pullapoothangudi.
At that time, the farmers who had been affected by the management of the private sugar factory in Brivantangudi and had been struggling for the past 491 days, suddenly blocked the vehicle which was collecting the votes of the BAM candidate MK stalin and expressed their agitation.
It said, "Where have you been for so long, we have been fighting for 491 days after losing our livelihood. Why not support our struggle? With what face are you asking us for votes now? Currently, the party you have allied with is in the middle. Why not talk to them and solve our problem? He asked a barrage of questions. To this, MK stalin, the candidate of the Communist party, remained silent.
