Fake international call center busted…
The police team of Dwarka Sector-23 police station of Dwarka district has exposed two fake international call centers running in the area and arrested a total of 7 accused including the mastermind. These people used to deceive people living in America by pretending to be technical support staff of Microsoft.
The accused used to call people from the call center in the name of microsoft Account Technical Support and extort huge amount in indian Rupees from them in the form of gift cards by telling them about the problem in their system and promising to fix it.
7 arrested in raid
DCP Ankit Singh said that Dwarka police had received information about a fake call center being run on the third floor of a building located in Sector 19. From where American citizens are cheated by calling and pretending to be microsoft executives. On this information, a team of SI Rahul, ASI Mangtu ram and others was formed under the supervision of ACP madan Lal meena and leadership of SHO sunil Kumar Ranjan.
Based on the information received from the sources, the team raided the spot from where a total of 7 accused including 2 women were arrested. They have been identified as Rehan alias Ben, ashish Negi alias Mark, Thakur uday Gill alias Eric, pradeep Kumar alias Dan, Nikhil Gupta alias Nick, Prabhjeet alias Stella and Nandini Ambastha alias Linda Burnett. 15 smart phones, 11 laptops and chargers, 7 routers and data of possible victims have been recovered from their possession.
