Congress leader Pramod Tiwari questioned the credibility of ED regarding the National Herald case. He said that the agency is being used only for political vendetta.
Congress On ED Action
Congress has launched a scathing attack on the bjp over the filing of a chargesheet by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald case. rajya sabha MP and congress leader Pramod Tiwari called this action a political conspiracy and accused the bharatiya janata party of lying.
Pramod Tiwari said that this entire case is motivated only by political revenge. He said that Subramanian Swamy had filed this case in 2013, but the bjp government did not take any serious action on it until 2020-2021. When Swamy started speaking against prime minister Narendra Modi and home minister amit shah, only then the government raised the matter again and handed over the investigation to the ED.
'ED filed a chargesheet on the last day'
He alleged that ED had 365 days to file the chargesheet, but the agency did nothing for 364 days and filed the chargesheet on the last day. Tiwari said that this action has been taken against the family which contributed to the country's independence. They strongly opposed the British. When the Quit india Movement was going on, the parent organization of bjp had written a letter to join the british army.
He said that Young india is registered as a non-profit organization under Company Act 25, in which no benefit can be taken, only given. Tiwari challenged the bjp to show any transaction or document that proves that sonia gandhi, rahul Gandhi, or anyone else has received financial benefit.
agency is being misused'
Pramod Tiwari also questioned the credibility of ED and said that its conviction rate is less than one percent, which shows that the agency is being used only for political vendetta. Tiwari expressed gratitude for Akhilesh Yadav's support to congress and said that institutions like ED were formed against economic offenders, not to target political opponents. He said, 'If those who murder 302 are punished, does it mean that the law will be misused?'
