Karnataka government will soon bring the Rohith Vemula Act, Siddaramaiah reacted to rahul Gandhi's letter.

Karnataka Rohith Vemula Act: Siddaramaiah said that our government is firm in its resolve to implement the Rohith Vemula Act so that no student has to face discrimination based on caste or religion.

 Leader of Opposition in lok sabha rahul gandhi wrote a letter to karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and said that the Rohith Vemula Act should be implemented in the state. According to congress mp rahul gandhi, by doing this, no student from the underprivileged classes will have to suffer the pain of casteism, which Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Rohith Vemula, and crores of people have suffered. Karnataka cm Siddaramaiah supported this call of MP rahul Gandhi.

After congress leader rahul gandhi wrote a letter, cm Siddaramaiah posted on instagram and announced that the karnataka government will introduce the Rohith Vemula Act as soon as possible. He wrote, "I thank rahul gandhi for his letter and his unwavering commitment to social justice. Our government is firm on its resolve to implement the Rohith Vemula Act in Karnataka. So that it can be ensured that no student has to face discrimination based on caste, class or religion."



CM Siddaramaiah said, "We will bring this law as soon as possible to honor the dreams of Rohith, Payal, Darshan, and others who deserved respect and not boycott." He said, "This will be a step towards realizing Dr BR Ambedkar's dream of an equal, compassionate India." The congress had promised to implement the Rohith Vemula Act at the national level if it came to power at the Centre.


Rohith Vemula committed suicide

Rohith Vemula, a student of hyderabad University, committed suicide in january 2016 due to alleged caste discrimination. In May 2014, the telangana police filed a closure report in the case, controversially stating that no one was responsible for Vemula's death and that he was not a Dalit. congress mp rahul gandhi said, "Recently I met students and teachers from Dalit, Adivasi, and OBC communities in Parliament. During the conversation, they told me how they have to face caste-based discrimination in colleges and universities."
