The indigo plane going from delhi to Srinagar had escaped a horrific incident on May 21. The plane was in the air when it came under severe turbulence due to hailstorm, after which the pilot contacted Lahore ATC and asked for permission for emergency landing. However, pakistan did not allow the indigo plane to make an emergency landing, after which the flight made an emergency landing in Srinagar. During this time, there were 227 people on board the plane, including the crew members.
After the information of pakistan not allowing the indigo plane to make an emergency landing came to light, discussions have started on this. Actually, at the time when this incident happened, the front part of the plane had already crashed, in such a situation a big accident could have happened at any time. Now the question is what would have happened if the plane had entered Pakistani airspace even after not getting permission? What action would the Pakistani government have taken on this? And can this be done in an emergency situation?
Pakistan has closed its airspace
Let us tell you, after india took action after the pahalgam attack, Pakistan had completely closed its airspace for indian airlines, in response to which the indian government has also closed its airspace for Pakistani planes. After this decision of pakistan, Indian airlines planes are traveling to europe and gulf countries through alternate routes.
What if the plane had entered the airspace without permission?
According to the statement issued by DGCA, the indigo plane had contacted Lahore ATC in an emergency situation, but it was not allowed to land. In such a situation, the question is what would have happened if the plane had entered Pakistani airspace despite not getting permission? Let us tell you, whenever a plane is in the air, it has to follow the airspace rules. Even in the case of emergency landing, landing is done only after taking permission from the nearest ATC. As far as india and pakistan are concerned, the relations between the two countries are going through the worst phase at present. Also, both the countries have closed their respective airspaces. In such a situation, if any plane entered Pakistan's airspace without permission, it would be considered a violation of airspace. pakistan could consider it an enemy plane and take any action against it, including targeting the plane. However, doing this on a passenger plane could have led to international criticism.
