Samajwadi Party's maharashtra chief Abu Azmi on friday (30 May) raised questions on the halting of India's military operation 'Operation Sindoor' after the pahalgam attack. Criticizing the central government, he called it an incomplete operation. Abu Azmi's remarks came amid an internal debate within the congress, especially after leaders like shashi tharoor and former External Affairs minister salman Khurshid praised the Modi government's action on 'Operation Sindoor' and the abrogation of Article 370.

Both the congress leaders were part of all-party delegations that went abroad recently and have been facing severe criticism since then. Critics have dubbed them 'super spokespersons of the BJP'. Abu Azmi questioned why 'Operation Sindoor' was not completed? Why did the government stop it midway?

Why was a ceasefire declared with Pakistan- Azmi

He further said, "In the terrorist attack in pahalgam, many women lost their sindoor. We were fully prepared for war, then what happened that within a day a ceasefire was declared? There was no real retaliation against Pakistan. The government should take strict action."

'Constitutional process should have been followed'

Abu Azmi also reacted to salman Khurshid's comments during a conversation with Indonesian think tanks and academics, where Khurshid said that there was a big problem in kashmir for a long time. A lot of it was reflected in an article called article 370 of the Constitution and in the thinking of the government, which somehow created the impression that it was different from the rest of the country. But article 370 was repealed and it was eventually abolished. Azmi said, "As far as article 370 is concerned, the constitutional process should have been followed."
