KCR Chief Minister, a successful journey… Yes! This is the journey of none other than the first ever Chief Minister of independent Telangana state, Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao, fondly called to as KCR by the Telangana public. This may be surprising to many but, KCR in his early days has started as an immigration consultant sending people to the Gulf and even was called as “Dubai Sekhar” by his near and dear. KCR was born on 17 February 1954 in Chintamadaka village, Siddipet Mandal, Medak District of the then Hyderabad State. He attained a Masters in Telugu Literature from O.U Arts College Osmania University, Hyderabad. KCR started his political career with the youth Congress party in Medak district, controlled by Sanjay Gandhi in the 1970s. As he himself claims, he and a few others stood by Late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi even after her defeat in the 1977 Lok Sabha polls. KCR then joined Telugudesam party founded by the worshipped film actor of him, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao in 1983 and contested in the elections, but lost to A Madan Mohan Reddy. Later he started his undefeated victorious journey from 1985 till 1999 at the Assembly. He served as the Deputy speaker for the TDP Government. Later in 2001, resigned from TDP to form his own party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi with the agenda of separate Telangana state. With his uncompromised fight against all the Governments at the state and Center for a single cause of independent state of Telangana, KCR has finally achieved it in 2014 and is now seen as the first Chief Minister of the 29th state of India, Independent Telangana state. His hunger strike of 2009 for 11 days was one of the most ferocious feats by any in this cause. APherald.com congratulates Mr. Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao, the 1st Chief Minister of Telangana state.
