Sushil Kumar, champion of the fifth season of Sony TV’s famous game show Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2011, the first one to present Rs 5 crore as award money. Three years after he was announced KBC winner, the minor computer operator from Motihari in north Bihar accepted that the public attention is long gone.

Kumar is without job, not even as well paid employed as his before KBC. What he is remained with now is very little money, no career hope and a complete lot of disappointment, Kumar told HT on Wednesday. As long as he luxuriated in the fame of KBC victory, offers poured in.

But times gone by, his dreams never became productive. Prior this week a distressed Kumar met former Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for the first time at his Patna residence to “congratulate him for the good work he had done for Bihar as its CM”.

Nitish insisted him to give a speech to JD (U) activists assembled at his house. But if Kumar was viewing for a break in politics, he got nothing that could escalate his hopes. After tax deduction on Kumar’s KBC prize money, he left with approximately Rs 3.6 crore. Kumar accepted very little of that money remains. “But I can’t say my earning in anywhere near enough”, he confessed.
