In the Darshi constituency of prakasam district, an intriguing political battle is underway between two young doctors representing different parties. Dr. Gottipati Lakshmi, a Kamma, is representing the tdp, while former mla Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy, a Reddy, is contesting on behalf of the YCP. Their candidacy has transformed Darshi into a battleground, with both parties vying for victory.

Sivaprasad Reddy, who previously won as an mla from the congress in 2009 but lost in 2014, initially opted out of the 2019 elections. However, he has now entered the fray, challenging the incumbent mla Maddishetty Venugopal. Despite Venugopal's victory in the last election, the Buchepalli faction has persistently opposed him since coming to power, causing political turmoil in Darshi.

Adding to the complexity, Sivaprasad's mother, Venkayamma, has been appointed as the ZP Chairperson, bolstering their influence in the constituency. Meanwhile, TDP's decision to field Dr. Gottipati Lakshmi, from a politically influential family in prakasam district, has injected new energy into their campaign.

Initially expected to be a comfortable victory for the ycp, the race has tightened considerably, with tdp gaining ground in Mundlamuru Mandal, Darshi Municipality, and Darshi Rural Mandal. However, ycp maintains its stronghold in areas like Tallur and Donakonda. The competition is neck and neck, with both candidates having equal opportunities based on social groups and geographical factors.

As the election draws near, the battle in Darshi has become nerve-wracking, leaving observers eagerly awaiting the outcome between these two dynamic young doctors. The final verdict will reveal which party emerges victorious in this closely contested constituency.
