The battle of onemanship between AP CM
Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM KCR was bare-all affair before the
people of two states in June and July. The battle even attracted nationwide
attention, albeit in a negative manner which led Telugus to bow their heads in
shame.
While
there is no doubt that TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was caught red handed on
video, offering bribe and speaking about Naidu as his boss, Telangana
government all along maintained a sense of righteousness and virtues. Now this
lie has been exposed by Telangana government itself.
TDP MLA Revanth Reddy
Appealing
in the Hyderabad high court against Vijayawada court decision to order telecom
companies to handover call records, Telangana government through its counsel
Ram Jethmalani admitted that it had resorted to phone tapping as part of
Revanth Reddy’s note for vote scam.
The state
argued that since its government was at stake, it had to resort to phone
tapping of TDP leaders. This is indeed a brazen admission by a government and
also its justification is untenable.
Sources
say that the courts may not take kind to the fact that Telangana has resorted
to phone tapping, inspite of whatever may be the reasons. TRS leaders had once
loudly proclaimed that they don’t have any need to do phone tapping.
