After reportedly making an insulting gesture during a Saudi Arabian league game while playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo was given a one-match suspension.

Social media footage from Sunday's game showed Ronaldo repeatedly pushing his palm forward in front of his groyne and cupping his ear. It seems that the attack was directed against fans of the opposition Al Shabab.

Chants of "Messi"—a reference to Ronaldo's longtime nemesis from Argentina—could be heard in the background. The committee decided that in order to offset the costs of the complaint filing fees, the Portuguese star would have to pay 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666) to the Saudi Football Federation and 20,000 riyals to Al-Shabab.

The committee declared that there is no right of appeal for this judgement. After Al Nassr's 2-0 league loss to Al-Hilal in april of last year, 39-year-old Ronaldo seemed to touch his penis on his approach to the dugout.

Ronaldo, 39, has faced similar criticism in the past. He was observed seemingly grabbing his penis as he made his way to the dugout following a 2-0 loss to Al Hilal in a league game in april of last year. Earlier this month, Ronaldo picked up an Al Hilal scarf that was thrown at him from the fans during the Riyadh Cup final, which Al Nassr also lost 2-0 to Al Hilal. He momentarily put the scarf in his shorts before discarding it as he headed to the tunnel.
