There are situations where you don't know who will get a pink slip on any given day and whose jobs will be lost. A fired indian employee alleges that layoffs are not based on performance. google india employee Animesh Swain has made sensational allegations in a LinkedIn post. Allegedly, pink slips are given to even the highest-rated employees.

 It has been revealed with evidence that the names of recently promoted people are also included in this list. "People who have shown good skills, including myself, are being fired here even if they are better than those who were fired," Swain said in the post. Another employee working as a google cloud program manager, Gurugram-based Akshatra Walia, was also fired 10 minutes before the google meeting. 

"I was getting ready for my meeting just 10 minutes away when I got an 'Access Denied' mail on my system saying I have been removed. I was stunned by this sudden development," Walia posted on the professional networking platform.  In an effort to further reduce costs, google has already issued an ultimatum to its employees to share office space in the office. Employees returning to work were asked to share their work desks with a "partner".

Google india recently laid off more than 400 employees. The layoffs at google india are part of a massive job cut that has affected 12,000 workers worldwide at the company. It denied allegations that the layoffs were "accidental". Alphabet and google CEO Sundar Pichai previously said they were "deeply sorry" for the workforce cuts.
