For those who are familiar with the plot of The Lord of the Rings, the story revolves around several human races, including Elves, Dwarves, Harfoots, and Mortals, battling against the evil Sauron. Finding out if Sauron is alive or not is the central theme of the first season. The Stranger (an elderly man who falls from the sky) was revealed to be none other than Lord Sauron in the final episode of Season 1, but with a further surprise that he is actually a Wizard. The big twist followed.
There are several leads in "The Rings of Power," but Lady Galadriel, the elf commander, is the main one. She then transports the hurt Halbrand, king of the Southlands, to the elven city of Eregon, where she discovers that he is not who he claims to be. She reveals that he is none other than the dark lord Sauron, who begs her to lend a hand and serve as his queen when they control Middle-earth in the future. Everyone was completely taken aback by these two revelations regarding the identities of Halbrand and Stranger, and everyone was astounded by the excellent visual effects used in even a brief sequence.
The last episode's twists appealed to the general public, but critics who are devotees of JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings haven't truly like it. They claim that the series is utterly disorganised and that its creators merely paid attention to things that inspire awe, failing to truly wow with their storytelling skills. Everyone has the right to an opinion, after all.
