Following their victory in the 2019 elections, YS jagan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, renamed numerous welfare programs after his late father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The health University was renamed after telugu legend NT Rama Rao, and this was perhaps the biggest change. It appears that the ycp government is continuing its tendency of renaming places since the vantage point at Vizag's beach was recently given the ysr moniker. It was originally dubbed ysr view Point in honor of Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam.

TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu criticized this ycp government action and slammed cm Jagan. "I am saddened to learn that Vizag's Abdul Kalam view Point has been renamed ysr view Point. What does changing names to psychopathic sadism mean? This is nothing more than denigrating a beloved president of the people who embodied sincerity, self-control, and tenacity," Naidu said.

It appears that the jagan administration has already omitted the name of former President Kalam. In november 2019, the 'APJ Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskar' was renamed to the ysr vidya Puraskars, and the viewpoint is the second event. More programs or locations might experience this naming trend before the 2024 elections. Hail YS and jai Jagan
