Mumbaikars will now have to bear the burden of bus fare hike, because BMC has approved the proposal of BEST buses, due to which the ticket prices can be changed. Now the final decision of the bus Transport Authority is pending. As soon as the approval is received, the new rates will come into effect.

Decision taken after CM's order?

In fact, a meeting was held at Sahyadri Guest house in the presence of chief minister devendra fadnavis a few days ago to find a solution to the financial problems of BEST. chief minister fadnavis had ordered BEST to find new ways to increase its revenue. After this, the BEST administration put forward the proposal to increase the fare.

How much did BEST increase the fare?

BEST has increased the fare of non-AC buses, under which the fare for 5 km will increase from Rs 5 to Rs 10, fare for 10 km from Rs 10 to Rs 15, fare for 15 km from Rs 15 to Rs 20, and fare for 20 km from Rs 20 to Rs 30.

At the same time, the fare of air-conditioned (A/C) buses has also been increased. Fare for 5 km will increase from Rs 6 to Rs 12, fare for 10 km from Rs 13 to Rs 20, fare for 15 km from Rs 19 to Rs 30, and fare for 20 km will increase from Rs 25 to Rs 35.
