The Income Tax Department has released two official mobile apps for easy filing:

AIS for Taxpayer

Income Tax Department App

Both are available on Android and iOS and are designed for salaried individuals, pensioners, and small taxpayers.


Step-by-Step Filing Process

1️⃣ Login

Open the app and login using your PAN, Aadhaar, or registered user ID and password.

2️⃣ Access Pre-Filled Data

After login, the app shows your Annual Information Statement (AIS) and Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS).

These include information from employers, banks, and mutual funds. No need to enter this manually.

3️⃣ Choose the Right ITR Form

The app helps select the correct ITR form based on your income type:

Salary

Pension

Capital gains

Other sources of income

4️⃣ Update Missing Data

Add any missing details manually, such as:

Fixed deposit interest

Rental income

Other taxable sources

5️⃣ File and E-Verify

Submit your return through the app.

Complete e-verification via:

Aadhaar OTP

Net banking

Digital signature

6️⃣ Get Acknowledgement

Once submitted and verified, you will receive an instant acknowledgement confirming successful filing.
