Russia has attacked ukraine by underestimating it, but now Ukrainians have made their unity a wall of invincible resistance and forced the Russian attackers to chew the gram. The thing that attracts the most attention in this war is the courage of the women who took up arms for the defence of the country.

Ukraine was coined by women and is now the backbone of the war. Whether an economist, a lawyer, a poet or a journalist, the aim is to eliminate the enemy.

Ukraine is one of the rarest countries in the world where women outnumber men. There are 100 females for 86 males. In the journey from independence till now, women have always irrigated ukraine with their power. Ukrainian women's resistance is not limited to the social level alone. 

Two years ago, when Russian-backed rebels began carrying out terrorist attacks, many ordinary women took up arms to defend their country. Even today, among these educated women who are taking up arms, there is an economist, a lawyer, a poet or a journalist, but now they all have the same aim… to protect the country. Some of them became snipers (military shooters), some war doctors and some complete soldiers.

Military role increased after the annexation of Crimea in 2014

Although women had been in the Ukrainian army since 1993, their work was limited and had never participated in military operations. But after Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, ukraine began to feel their need. 

Due to this, in 2016 he was given the right to fight in the war. Two years later, in 2018, the role of military vehicle gunner, infantry commander and sniper, ensured the same rights and roles as male soldiers.

22.5% more women deployed than America

According to the figures of 2020, at present more than 31 thousand women were posted in the armed forces. By march last year, their number in the active force increased to 22.5 per cent, while in a powerful country like America, only 14.4 per cent of the army was women.

21% participation in parliament, vast russia also lags behind

Ukrainian women have also been the pivot of society, politics and democracy. In the last election, 21 per cent of the seats in parliament remained in his name. On the other hand, if we look at the invading russia, there are only 16 per cent women in political positions, then they have a very limited role in the army, which is much less than in many countries.

42-year-old Olena Bilzoreska is a well-known sniper from ukraine, who has been participating in military operations for the past several years. Earlier she was a poet and a journalist. Volunteerly picked up a gun but was inducted into the Marine Corps in view of his bravery. Five years ago, 10 Russian rebels were killed during fighting in the Donbass area. He says, in the battle, the enemy is not a human being for me, but the target, which I have to penetrate at any cost.
