Kapu Ramachandra reddy, a prominent member of the congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='ysr congress-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>ysr congress and a member of the andhra pradesh state legislature representing Rayadurgam, announced his retirement as party president of the district's Anantapur on Tuesday. He claimed that a catastrophic family event that left him with significant emotional distress forced him to make the choice. He added that he also needed to concentrate on the district's party activities.

Ramachandra reddy explained in a letter to YSRC president and chief minister Y S jagan Mohan reddy that the tragedy in his family prevented him from handling the duties of district party president. Manjunath reddy, his son-in-law, committed himself in august of this year at his home in the tadepalli mandal village of Kunchanpalli, not far from the chief minister's mansion. The mla claimed that the tragedy had completely destroyed his family and that he was unable to concentrate on the duties assigned to him as the district party leader.

He stated he won't be able to do credit to the party president position because he must devote all of his attention to his constituency over the course of the next 1.5 years. In his letter of resignation, Ramachandra reddy praised the chief minister for giving him a significant role in the district party.
