Chief minister M.K.Stalin has wished for the New Year. In this regard, he has said on his twitter page that 2022 has become a year of upheaval in all fields. By 2023, they will strive to achieve the goal of making the youth of tamil Nadu capable of excelling in everything globally. Welcome the new year...bring new life...win unparalleled youthful energy. He also said that since the establishment of the government under the leadership of DMK in tamil Nadu, the benefits and achievements of the government in many fields are immense. Will the DMK government, which is doing well in many fields such as education, industry, and medicine, not only care about the welfare of the farmers who grow rice in the village? The DMK government is also concerned about the welfare of the farmers and is doing various welfare schemes. The government has decided to give an incentive of Rs.195 per ton of sugarcane to all tamil Nadu farmers who have supplied sugarcane to sugar mills during the 2021-2022 grinding season. The DMK government is going to take this step to restore the sugarcane cultivation area and protect the interests of the farmers while the sugar mills are declining. Apart from providing incentives to the farmers, the government also provides many other assistances like drip irrigation, sugarcane harvesters, rehabilitation of sugar mills, co-electricity scheme, and popularization of sugarcane varieties with high sugar production.Through this, sugarcane production has increased from 95,000 hectares in the 2020-21 cropping season to 1,40,000 hectares in the 2022-23 cropping season.
Sugarcane crushing has also increased from 98.66 lakh metric tonnes to 139.15 lakh metric tonnes. The government has earmarked nearly Rs 199 crore for the welfare of sugarcane farmers and the DMK government is also taking steps to pay Rs 2,950 per tonne to the best farmers who have provided sugarcane. The government has said that Rs 1.21 lakh sugarcane farmers will benefit from this. Next, the DMK government has provided electricity connections to the farmers to increase agricultural production. The DMK government has done a great favor by providing new electricity connections to approximately 50,000 farmers to cool the hearts of the farmers who depend on the soil just as the soil cools in the rain. On november 11, tamil Nadu chief minister M.K.Stalin launched this project in Aravakurichi, in which 20,000 farmers were immediately provided electricity connection in the first phase. Before that, the government provided electricity connections to one lakh farmers, making it the largest government in the country.
